Photographs by Alan Hagberg. These beautiful images were taken over two days, on October 12th and 13th, 2019, using a Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera with various lenses using the focus shift feature. Each image, except for one, was created from multiple images, each with a different focal point, and then combined into a single image. They have received little or no sharpening in post, mostly only color and exposure adjustments. Clicking on an image will open it in a new tab. Clicking on the image again will enlarge it further. Close tab to come back here. View each image as large as possible, in its largest format to see the incredible depth of field; it is more apparent in some than others, especially in the Grist Mill photos. Compare the nearest foreground to the farthest background subjects. And please, do not view these on your phone—you will be missing what makes these images extraordinary. Please note: if the colors are not vivid and very saturated, you may need to adjust the settings of your monitor.

Oooh, fall in New England. Lovely photos!
Some great shots Alan! Enough to make us want to leave the Central Coast of California
Great examples of focus shifting. Were the shots combined in PS or a specific stacking app? Eg Helicon, Zerene…
Thanks for sharing. Followed the link from Nikonians.
Thanks! Stacked and blended in Photoshop. Combined into a merged file and then edited to taste.
